Favorite thing about UMHB
My favorite thing about UMHB is the people and how friendly everyone was to me on my visit and during my time here. I really felt like I became a part of the UMHB family!
My name is Jonathan Hanson and I am from Gilmer, Texas. I grew up in East Texas, but made my way to Central Texas when I started at UMHB in the fall of 2010. I brought with me my love for the outdoors, sports, and enjoying time with friends, which you can easily find in Belton! I now live in Temple, Texas and work as the Course Credit Evaluator here at UMHB. I enjoy working for UMHB and I would love to share my experience with you to help guide you through the college process. My hope is that everyone has the opportunity to have the UMHB experience that I had!
I am the first person in my family to get a Masters Degree.
My journey to UMHB started with a recruiting trip with several friends from high school to visit with the football program. It continued with a phone call from an Admissions Counselor in May letting me know it was not too late to apply for financial aid and attend UMHB. It finished with a miracle and God opening up opportunities for me to attend UMHB. I spent my four years of college at UMHB and I loved every minute of it, so much I decided not to leave! I was amazed by how friendly people were and how beautiful the campus was. While I was at UMHB, I was involved in many activities including intramural sports, Residence Hall Association, Crusader Knights, and much more. I have been through the college process and I am excited to be able to help you start your journey at UMHB!
