Cru Camp Wrap-up
Please expect to stay the full day for Cru Camp. If you have something come up on your Cru Camp date, please contact the Center for Academic Excellence and we will work to help you reschedule to a different date.
Our Interest Sessions are a campus-wide investment into our incoming freshmen. Faculty and staff have worked to create a variety of topics to help our new students prepare for and thrive in their first year in college. Read more about each session below, or download our Interest Sessions Guide for further information.
First To Start, First to Finish
Are you the first person in your family to go to college? If so we have a great interest session designed just for you. We know that a first generation student's freshmen year can be a unique experience when compared to other students first year. Because of this we want to provide you with valuable information that will be a huge help for your transition to college.
Academic Success In Your First Year
Our Christian faith at UMHB is part of the foundation for our mission as a University. Because we desire to help all of our students grow in their knowledge of Jesus Christ, we have a large number of opportunities for students to serve that take place on or around campus. In this session you will hear from our Baptist Student Ministry as they share with you the many opportunities a student has to be involved in the spiritual life of UMHB.
Success as a Student Athlete
Making the transition into college is difficult for everyone. It can be even more so for our student athletes who not only are adjusting to the academic rigor of college but also learning to adjust to collegiate athletics as well. In this session we will provide great information and tips on learning to balance your studies with your performance on the field.
Living On Campus
For this interest session you have the opportunity to hear from multiple offices around campus who provide important resources for your everday life while living on campus. Some topics include our Nursing Center for students and our Police Department discussing campus safety and campus parking procedures.
As an incoming freshman at UMHB we know that you have many questions about what your daily life at UMHB will be like. We wanted to give you the opportunity to ask those question to some of our great upperclassmen who can offer personal first hand experience on what it is like to be a freshman at UMHB.
